TALAVERA POBLANA

From Puebla de Zaragoza comes Puebla or Talavera ceramics -recognizing the Spanish origin of Talavera de la Reina in Toledo-.

The art of decorating ceramic tiles, with the characteristic bluish tone of the Puebla talavera, is one of the most characteristic handicrafts in Mexico. Since the end of the 16th century, the production of talavera has been established, and in the 17th century, rules and regulations were established with unions that controlled quality and manufacturing. Currently there is a Denomination of Origin that establishes the Puebla origin of the products.
